MOBILITY ON THE INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

WORK STARTS ON A CYCLE LANE ON AVENIDA PARC LOGíSTIC AND CALLE 2 OF THE FREE TRADE ZONE

Barcelona, 25 May 2018. The Consorci de la Zona Franca in Barcelona (CZFB) has started building a new cycle lane in Avenida Parc Logístic and Calle 2 on the industrial estate. This upgrade isbeing paid for by Barcelona City Council, with lighting courtesy of the Consorci.

The lane will be one kilometre long and will consist of a cycling path with a lane in each direction on the median strip of the Avenida Parc Logístic. The cycling lane in Calle 2 will be 700 metres long and should be finished by the end of the year.

Construction has already started, although no decision has yet been taken regarding a connection from the subway under the Ronda Literal towards Calle Motors. This is expected shortly. It will then be possible to cycle on the lane from Paseo de la Zona Franca, Calle A, continue along Calle 2 and then along Parc Logístic. There will also be a link with calle Motors and Avenida Joan Carles I.

The industrial estate already has a cycle lane along Calle A. This is four kilometres long and it is now being connected to cycling networks in its surrounding municipalities.
