22@Network BCN becomes a new partner with BNEW’s next edition

Barcelona, 7 April 2021 – The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) and 22@Network have signed a collaboration agreement for the next edition of Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), which will take place from October 5 to 8. The Barcelona business district association will become a partner of the event’s next edition. With this agreement, 22@Network joins this great event aimed at boosting the economy’s reactivation.

Enric Urreta, president 22@Network BCN Association of Companies and Institutions, and Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca of Barcelona and president of BNEW, participated in the signing ceremony, which took place at the Consorci’s offices. Isabel Sabadí, Executive Director of 22@Network, and Blanca Sorigué, CEO of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, were also present at the signing and at the meeting that followed.

Pere Navarro thanked 22@Network BCN for its firm commitment to BNEW, “the previous BNEW edition was a success and proved to be a great platform for economic reactivation. We are very proud to continue adding up collaborators committed to the development of the new economy and, especially, to making Barcelona the great economic event of the year.”

For his part, Enric Urreta stressed that “both the Consorci de la Zona Franca and the 22@ innovative district are world references that place Barcelona in the first position to face post-covid social and economic reconstruction. We must continue to create spaces in Barcelona for all players to meet and collaborate to face and overcome the difficult current scenario. This new agreement aims to continue making Barcelona a global, open and competitive metropolis that generates, creates and captures talent, innovation and wealth.”

NEW, a hybrid, innovating and successful format

BNEW, a 100% professional and hybrid B2B event, created by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), successfully closed its first edition in Barcelona, that became the world. BNEW managed in its first edition to become a benchmark event held in the city with the presence of speakers and attendees from all over the world.

10,861 attendees from111 different countries participated in the event for four days, 90% of them did so online. BNEW featured inspirational speakers and more than 389 top-level speakers, many with an international profile. More than 160 hours of online content  were generated from the five BNEW sectors: Logistics, e-Commerce, Digital Industry, Economic Zones and Real Estate.

Participants shared their agendas and 23,271 virtual meetings were held through a 100% virtual networking tool that used artificial intelligence. At the same time, 128 companies participating in the BVillage received 6,582 requests for information from event attendees during the four days that lasted the event.
