BNEW attracts visitors from more than 100 countries in its 4th edition

Barcelona, October 5th, 2023.- Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), the largest disruptive and hybrid event of reference for the new economy, promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), today brings down the curtain on its fourth edition with a successful international presence, thus consolidating the city as the world capital of Industry 4.0.

Over the last four days, more than 12,500 professionals from all over the world –8.316 in person and 4.192– online enjoyed all the panels, sessions and debates on the new socio-economic challenges facing companies, large corporations and start-ups in the development of Industry 4.0. This new edition of BNEW has been the perfect opportunity to establish more than 8.000 networking contacts, more than 2.000 thanks to the state-of-the-art digital platform specifically developed by CZFB.

Pere Navarro, state delegate at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, highlighted, as a final balance of this fourth edition: “BNEW is unique in the world, and we are very proud of the participation figures of this fourth edition. We have contributed to generating new business opportunities, to boosting the region’s economy, to sharing knowledge and experiences among professionals and Barcelona has once again positioned itself as the capital of the new economy“. Navarro also announced that the Consorci is already working on the fifth edition of the event to be held in 2024, and that new dates will be announced shortly.

For her part, Blanca Sorigué, Director General of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, stated that “organising an event of this magnitude is a challenge and a great responsibility, and we have managed, once again, to consolidate BNEW as an essential event for the B2B sector. Evolving year after year is only possible thanks to all the people who have worked to offer a unique and disruptive event like this, with spectacular logistics and staging that allows us to offer content locally and internationally, in person and online, which can be retrieved on our platforms from any day and place around the world”.

The 2023 edition gave prominence to seven key interconnected verticals: Digital Industry, Mobility, Sustainability, Proptech, Talent, Health and Experience. Seven major themes that have promoted synergies between them to discuss the application of new technologies and address the challenges of the new economy. The unique 17,000 square metre DFactory Barcelona building, located in Barcelona’s Zona Franca, turned Barcelona into the world capital of the new economy, bringing together more than 350 speakers who offered 140 hours of content distributed over 100 panels, sessions and debates.

In the case of the vertical BNEW Experience, which was held during the four days in person at the technology hub, attendees were able to enjoy show cooking sessions, tastings and workshops, as well as samples of design, art and the culture of the renowned and emblematic Barcelona.
