BWAW 2026 will open its 6th edition tomorrow

- The Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week will hold its opening ceremony tomorrow with the participation of the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto; the Executive President of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro; the Deputy President of the Economic Development and Tourism Area of the Diputació de Barcelona, Ana Maria Martínez; the Deputy Mayor of Ajuntament de Barcelona, Maria Eugènia Gay; the Director General for Equity at Work and Co-responsibility of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Saray Espejo; and the CEO of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué.
- The Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW) reaches its 6th edition, consolidating its position as the leading event to promote gender equality in the business sphere. From 4 to 6 March, it will bring together a total of 77 high-level speakers across 15 debate sessions.
Barcelona, 3 March, 2026.- DFactory Barcelona will host tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. the official opening of the 6th edition of the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW), the benchmark event for advancing gender equality in the industrial and business sectors. The event is promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), in collaboration with the Incyde Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce and RTVE Play, with the support of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, EBRO, 19 partner organisations, and the prominent sponsorship of MERLIN.
The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 4 March, at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium of DFactory Barcelona and will feature the participation of the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto; the Executive President of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro; the Deputy President of the Economic Development and Tourism Area of the Diputació de Barcelona, Ana Maria Martínez; the Deputy Mayor of Ajuntament de Barcelona, Maria Eugènia Gay; the Director General for Equity at Work and Co-responsibility of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Saray Espejo; and the CEO of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué.
From 4 to 6 March, coinciding with the week of International Women’s Day (8 March), this gender-balanced forum will bring together a total of 77 high-level speakers, both international and national, across 15 debate sessions. The aim is to propose solutions to advance parity, equal opportunities and the promotion of women, focusing on areas such as: women’s labour rights; female leadership in innovation in science and health; digital rights with a gender perspective in an AI dominated world; the role of women in defence, public safety and public service; female talent in sectors such as video games, architecture and aerospace; the responsibility of the media, large corporations and public institutions in promoting equality; and the female perspective in fields such as real estate, housing and finance.
Among the speakers participating in this edition are prominent profiles such as Cristina Capdevila, Managing Director of Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge; María Buhigas, Chief Architect of Ajuntament de Barcelona; Marga Guitart, Board Secretary and Legal Director at ONU Mujeres España; Ferran Marsà, CEO of La Llave de Oro; Ana Palencia, Communications Director at Unilever Spain; Joan Francesc Bañó, Executive Director of GameBCN; Judit Camargo, CEO of Roka Furadada; Joan Seoane, Program Director of Research at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology; Clàudia Mateo, Director of Space Business and Innovation at i2CAT; Carlos Tusquets, Chairman of Banco Mediolanum; and Marta Fresnedoso, First Sergeant of the Guardia Civil, among others.
