CAIXABANK, THROUGH BUILDINGCENTER AND SERVIHABITAT, WILL BE THE MAIN SPONSOR OF BMP 2018
Barcelona, 18 June 2018. The Consorci de la Zona Franca in Barcelona (CZFB) and CaixaBank Group, through BuildingCenter and Servihabitat, have signed an agreement to be the main sponsors of Barcelona Meeting Point 2018, to be held from 25 to 28 October at the Fira de Barcelona – Montjuic. This new agreement means that the banking group will have been the main sponsor of the last 20 editions of the leading International Real Estate Fair, which will take place this autumn in Barcelona.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Jordi Nicolau, CaixaBank’s Territorial Manager in Barcelona; Jordi Soldevila, CEO of BuildingCenter, Antonio Pérez, Executive Director of Operations at Servihabitat, Blanca Sorigué, General Manager of CZFB and Barcelona Meeting Point, and Antón Ferré, General Secretary of CZFB.
During the formal event to sign the agreement, Blanca Sorigué thanked CaixaBank Group for its commitment to Barcelona Meeting Point, and for its “investment in ensuring that this year’s leading real estate exhibition will be packed with innovations, spearheading the transformation of the real estate sector with new technologies and the economy 4.0”.
Jordi Nicolau, Barcelona territorial manager at CaixaBank, commented that “this cycle is bringing in new agents, enthusiastic interest from investors, the emergence of PropTech and an environment that certainly requires a more professional approach, due, in part, to new technologies, since consumers have become far more demanding and they are better informed”. He also pointed out that “this forum is an interesting opportunity to discuss and explore all these subjects in a close environment and, very importantly, to find new investment opportunities and business.” He added that “this year’s Barcelona Meeting Point is set to be one of the most interesting in recent years”, concluding that “the healthy state of the real estate market, supported by both CaixaBank as by the financial sector in general, have made it a driving force behind the economy during the last two years, a trend that is set to continue”.
According to Jordi Soldevila, CEO of BuildingCenter, “as one of the main land holders, the raw material of the future, more than 1,500 new homes and 5,500 housing units in completion, we are seeing demand spreading into the main provincial capitals like an oil slick, in diverse sectors like residential, industrial and logistical support, which makes the reactivation of the sector much more rational. This spread in demand, decentralised from large cities, is also due to the fact that in these sectors, buyers can also benefit from real estate opportunities”. Soldevila added that “every year, BMP is an opportunity to make direct contact with this demand”.
Antonio Pérez, executive director of Operations at Servihabitat, pointed out that “by renewing this sponsorship agreement with BMP, Servihabitat has confirmed its steadfast commitment to the exhibition, which has become a benchmark event attended by the main agents in the real estate market”. Pérez drew attention to the important role of this real estate fair because “at a time when the prevailing upward trend allows us to be optimistic, the BMP has become a meeting point where we can take the pulse of the residential market and analyse future prospects”.
The Consorci focuses on affordable housing
The CZFB, one of the city’s main public housing operators, with housing planned for the La Marina district and for the Antiguos Cuarteles de Sant Andreu, added that BMP “will be a magnificent opportunity to discuss subjects like affordable housing, a place to find real estate partners for all kind of projects and the best time to explain the Consorci’s plans to develop affordable social housing: innovative projects in the international avant-garde that reflect the Consorci’s ongoing commitment to the community and respect for the people of Barcelona”.
BMP 2018 commits to innovation and talent in real estate
BMP 2018 will lead the far-reaching transformation driven by new technologies that is revolutionising the real-estate industry with the emergence of new business models, new professional profiles, new tools, new ways of interacting with customers, new opportunities… The 22nd edition of BMP 2018, which will take place from 25 to 28 October in Hall 8 at the Fira de Barcelona – Montjuic exhibition centre, is renewing its determination to become the international leader in the real estate industry. To achieve this, BMP 2018 has been completely redesigned to strengthen its international influence, bringing it to the city of Barcelona to take advantage of all its attractions, redesigning the layout to give visitors a better experience at the trade fair, harnessing the sector’s latest trends and innovations with a symposium that will bring together the main international players, creating an extensive program of networking activities, and launching solutions for homes and society that address the challenges facing of the housing market.
One of the most interesting innovations planned for BMP 2018 will be an area featuring a group of selected start-ups, highlighting the best solutions and new talents in the real estate sector. This area, organised in collaboration with La Salle Technova, will include private meetings between large companies and start-ups that will be able to present their projects to investors, entrepreneurs, sector companies and other potential partners.
“Trends & Innovations”, the title of BMP International Symposium
Barcelona Meeting Point 2018 will occupy four busy days, from 25 to 28 October, focused on the real estate profession on 25 and 26 October, and on the public from 25 to 28 October. BMP International Symposium will have a pivotal role within the trade event. Entitled “Trends & Innovations” the BMP International Symposium will be a two-day meeting of international agents in the real estate sector: investors, family offices, business angels, venture capital, sovereign wealth funds, developers, architects and real estate agents. BMP will be a forum for discussing the present and future of the national and international real estate sector, attended by prestigious global experts who will explain how they have tackled and solved challenges involving real estate, architecture and urban development. On 25 and 26 October the BMP International Symposium will present the main trends in real estate innovation at a specific event on the subject of PropTech, explaining how 4.0 managers think and which criteria they take into account when making decisions. The BMP International Symposium will also feature real estate projects being tackled in other cities, such as San Francisco, and initiatives aimed at the millennials, a group with which BMP has made great efforts this year. There will also be a symposium about the residential market “Residential real estate: latest news and forecasts”.
