CZFB presents its budget and main projects for 2023

  • With a forecast of 11.85 million euros in profits, an increase of 11% over the previous year, the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona will maintain its clear commitment to innovation, sustainability and the SDGs in the coming year.

 

  • The entity also announces the main projects for 2023, highlighting the start of the second phase of construction of the DFactory, the promotion of the Logistics 4.0 Incubator, the transformation of the emblematic Correos building, and the celebration of the 25th anniversary of SIL, the 4th edition of BNEW, the 3rd edition of BWAW, the ALACAT Congress and the Free Trade Zones Conference of Ibero-America.

 

Barcelona, 16 December 2022.- This morning, the plenary of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) has approved its budget for 2023, with a forecast of 11.85 million euros in profits (a figure that represents an increase of 11% over the previous year). The public entity has also forecast a net turnover for 2023 of 54.9 million euros.

Meanwhile, the CZFB has presented the main projects for the coming year, highlighting the second phase of the DFactory Barcelona, the launch of the Logistic 4.0 Incubator and the transformation of the emblematic Correos building, located on Barcelona’s Via Layetana. The entity has also presented its main events dedicated to economic promotion, headed by the celebration of the 25th anniversary of SIL, a benchmark for the world as a trade fair for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain. This year, SIL will also host the ALACAT Congress, the fourth edition of the BNEW, the first organization of the Free Trade Zones Association of the Americas Conference, and the third edition of Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW). Thus, in 2023, the entity will increase its commitment to economic activity and promotion, with a clear commitment to innovation, sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

“The budgets for 2023 clearly show the entity’s commitment to remain an essential agent in the revitalisation of industry 4.0, economic promotion, development and commitment to talent and sustainability”, explained Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB, in his hearing. The event was also attended by Blanca Sorigué, Chief Executive Officer of the CZFB, who stated that “the impact of the CZFB in the industrial, logistic, entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem is substantial. The main projects presented for 2023 and the events led by the CZFB aim to boost economic activity and develop projects that position Barcelona as an innovative and competitive ecosystem.”
