Ibercaja –BNEW’s new BEARTH sponsor in terms of sustainability

• Ibercaja joins the list of companies and entities encouraging BNEW’s 4^th edition: a ground-breaking event organised by CZFB (Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona). The enterprise has shown its support and commitment towards the new economy and the development of the economic recovery.

• Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) will gather at DFactory Barcelona –one of the most unique buildings at the city– 7 global events from seven different fields: Proptech, Health, Digital Industry, Talent, Sustainability, Mobility and Experience.

Barcelona, 12^th June 2023. –  Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) has signed an agreement with Ibercaja. Through this action, the Bank will become BEARTH sponsor within the field named “Sustainability” at BNEW’s new edition, which will take place from 2^nd to 5^th October 2023. This agreement implies Ibercaja’s commitment towards this global meeting focused on the new economy, which last year set a record at its opening event with over 12,000 assistants from more than 100 countries all over the world.

At the signing event –which has taken place today at DFactory Barcelona building– the following authorities have attended: Myriam Santos-Morán Torrens –Regional director of Ibercaja at the Mediterranean area–; Albert Salvador Raich –Director of Centro Negocios Empresas de Barcelona (Business Centre Companies of Barcelona) –; and Blanca Sorigué –CEO of CZFB and BNEW.

Blanca Sorigué said: “BNEW was created as a risky proposal for launching a completely ground-breaking event, and we were lucky for receiving the support from partners, which have reiterated their commitment from BNEW’s first edition. Nonetheless, we have also the support from other partners who join this adventure year by year, like Ibercaja, who makes a debut this edition. We are extremely glad of having new colleagues throughout this journey, which are focused on contributing to boost the new economy”.

On the other hand, Myriam Santos-Morán Torrens highlighted: “From Ibercaja, we are pleased for being part of this initiative. BNEW’s approach is aligned with our strong vision towards sustainability, in addition to our goal of joining other companies and make them easy to progress to reach a more sustainable business model. Financial sector’s role is crucial for channelling capital flow towards sustainable projects and investment”.

More content and new experiences

BNEW’s 4^th edition will have three sets where seven important fields for the new economy –two per set– will be represented. Some of them have already been present from the first edition in 2020. Specifically, the seven topics for the 2023 edition will be the following: Proptech, Health, Digital Industry, Talent, Sustainability, Mobility and Experience. This format allows reaching professionals from different economic sectors, industries, SMEs, big corporations, administrations and institutions, as well as start-ups, all at the same time.

Due to last edition’s success, BNEW 2023 will be celebrated at DFactory Barcelona again: this is a unique building, located in Barcelona, with open, clear and digital spaces and committed towards 2030 Agenda. This ground-braking, cutting-the-edge event works with new possibilities and models, as well as with the view of changing the economical paradigm thanks to new technologies. And all of that will take place in Barcelona, which is a flagship city in Europe in terms of the new economy; a city which boosts this new way of working and disposes of a large 4.0 business ecosystem.

Globalisation and networking are BNEW 2023 key elements: through the second one, the event is looking for generating business, with the help of the event’s digital platform and artificial intelligence.
