Barcelona, September 3, 2025. – Ibercaja reaffirms, for the third consecutive year, its support for the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), the event organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona to promote, connect, and transform the new economy. This morning, Ibercaja’s Territorial Director of the Mediterranean Arc, Myriam Santos-Morán Torrens, and CZFB’s General Director, Blanca Sorigué, signed an agreement making the bank a BEARTH sponsor of the sustainability vertical at the sixth edition of BNEW, which will take place from September 29 to October 2 at DFactory Barcelona.

CZFB’s General Director, Blanca Sorigué, expressed her satisfaction with the agreement and stated: “We are pleased to have the support of Ibercaja, an entity deeply committed to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, and with a strong dedication to driving progress, closeness to people, authenticity, and generating a positive impact—values we fully identify with and that are present in the Barcelona New Economy Week, as a meeting and dialogue point for the new economy”. Sorigué also explained: “This year marks the sixth edition, with six specific verticals dedicated to digital industry, sustainability, talent, health, aviation, and mobility, along with experiential activities that make it a truly unique event, where we want the world to know it takes place in Barcelona”.

For her part, Myriam Santos-Morán Torrens emphasized that Ibercaja’s participation in this initiative reflects its commitment to helping stakeholders adapt to the current economic, social, and technological environment. “At Ibercaja, we want to accompany individuals, families, businesses, and society toward a more human, sustainable, and collaborative economy, leveraging the advantages offered by innovation, new technologies, and collaboration. Our Strategic Plan ‘Ahora Ibercaja 2024–2026’ strengthens these lines of action, integrating sustainability, innovation, and social commitment across all areas of the bank. All of this is framed within our corporate purpose: helping people build the story of their lives, because it will be our story”.

The Future of the Global Economy

The Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) is a clear example of how the physical and digital can be merged to shape the future of the global economy. This year’s edition will be held from September 29 to October 2 at DFactory Barcelona, a unique building promoted by CZFB that hosts the internationally renowned Industry 4.0 ecosystem, where collaborative innovation, cutting-edge technological advances, and transformative ideas converge.

The sixth edition of BNEW will maintain its hybrid format, with all content streamed online and networking initiatives held both digitally and in person, connecting seven key sectors of the new economy: Aviation, Health, Digital Industry, Talent, Sustainability, Mobility, and Experience. The event, which continues to position itself as a benchmark for the new economy, will once again feature a comprehensive knowledge program addressing pioneering advances and new technologies applied to sectors such as health, aviation, and talent, as well as sustainable initiatives developed through digital industry in areas like mobility.

Over its five previous editions, BNEW has achieved figures that not only represent the professional flow dedicated to the convergence of technologies and actions but also demonstrate the interest of both the private and public sectors in advancing toward a more digital, sustainable, and efficient model: 60,752 attendees, 2,501 speakers, 732 hours of content, 424 tech startups participating, and up to 1,442,376 views on the YouTube channel for each of the sessions held to date.

It is worth noting that CZFB also maintains a collaboration agreement with the Ibercaja Foundation, signed earlier this year, aimed at promoting innovation, training, and talent in strategic sectors such as mobility, technology, and logistics.
