More than 170 start-ups will participate in the BNEW Startup Innovation Hub 2024

• From all of them, the five best in each vertical will be selected and will be able to present their projects in a 5-minute pitch to a specialized audience with potential investors and clients.

• The 2024 BNEW Best Startup Awards ceremony will take place during a relaxed dinner that will take place on Wednesday, October 9 on the terrace of DFactory Barcelona.

• In its fifth edition, BNEW is consolidated as a unique meeting point for companies, entrepreneurs and investors seeking to collaborate in an environment of open innovation and carry out common projects.

Barcelona, 18 September 2024. – More than 170 start-ups have been selected to participate in the BNEW Startup Innovation Hub 2024, as part of the celebration of the fifth edition of the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), which will take place from 7 to 10 October at DFactory Barcelona. The event organised by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) is consolidating its position as a unique meeting point for companies, entrepreneurs and investors, tripling the number of participating startups compared to the last edition.

In this way, BNEW Startup Innovation Hub will once again serve as a showcase for emerging companies to exhibit their projects and showcase the latest innovations from the different sectors represented at the event: Digital Industry, Mobility, Sustainability, Aviation, Health and Talent. Those considered by a committee of experts as the five best startups in each vertical will have the opportunity to present their innovative projects to a specialized audience, international companies, investors, potential clients and venture capital firms, in a 5-minute pitch that will take place during the afternoon of Thursday, October 10 on the set of the Talent vertical.

In addition, during the four days of the event, all participating startups will have different spaces and tools to network, either in the format of B2B meetings or through messaging exchange through BNEW’  s digital platform.

The finalist startups in the new BNEW Aviation  vertical are: Unmanned Life, Grone, Grasshopper Air Mobility, Slimop Space and Delsat International Drones. In BNEW Digital Industry, the selected companies are: NappAi, Omnios Cognitive Solutions, Powerbim, Alias Robotics and Beyond Reality AR. Among the startups that will participate in BNEW Health, the following stand out: Time is Brain, Upfront diagnostics, LIFE Neurotech, Healthtech Innovations and Horus ML. BNEW Mobility will have as finalists: Cafler, Magment GmbH, Vaive Logistics, Bia Power and Eurotech. In BNEW Sustainability, the selected companies are: Joltech Solutions, UniSCool (Universal Smart Cooling), Indresmat, Incapto and Methanol Reformer. Finally, the startups that will participate in the pitches within BNEW Talent are: BIPO, Bein Mindset, Mérita, Payflow and Evoco.

Best BNEW Startup Award 2024

The more than 170 projects participating in the BNEW Startup Innovation Hub will also be candidates for the BNEW 2024 Best Startup Award , which will recognize the best startup in each vertical. The awards ceremony will take place during a relaxed dinner to be held on Wednesday, October 9 on the terrace of DFactory Barcelona.

A jury made up of a committee of experts has been in charge of selecting the finalist startups that will participate in the pitches, as well as the award-winning startups in each category. To this end, it will evaluate the solutions presented based on the impact of the project for the industry, the management capacity of the teams and the high-value technological solutions that offer sustainable competitive advantages. In addition, the potential for sustainable growth, the influence on the economy and society in general, as well as the fact that the emerging company has a high innovation component, will be taken into account.

It is also expected that among the professionals attending BNEW, startups will also have a prominent weight, exceeding last year’s 1,500, a figure that represents about 10% of the total number of attendees.
