Barcelona, October 27, 2025.- Pere Navarro, Special Government Delegate at the CZFB, visited the new Fundació AVAN center in Terrassa today, accompanied by the president of the organization, Cristina Urriza, and the general director, Anna Soler.

The new center is located in a renovated former industrial steam building, a symbol of Terrassa’s urban and social renewal, and represents a qualitative leap in neurological care in the city. Thanks to these new facilities, AVAN will be able to receive more people, offer more continuous treatments, and create new neurorehabilitation groups, responding to the growing demand for therapies for Parkinson’s, cognitive stimulation, and multiple sclerosis.

During the visit, Pere Navarro was able to see firsthand how this new space is transforming neurological care in the city and expanding rehabilitation opportunities for hundreds of people and their families.

For the first time, Terrassa also has the Petit AVAN, a space adapted to the needs of children and their families, offering comprehensive therapeutic care for children and adolescents with neurological conditions. Petit AVAN includes a gym and climbing wall equipped with specific equipment for pediatric neurorehabilitation, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy for children, as well as psychology, neuropsychology, and speech therapy. In total, the service will be able to care for around 60 children per year.

Pere Navarro, Special Government Delegate at the CZFB, stated, “We are deeply proud to have contributed to the creation of the new Petit AVAN space, a project that represents a true step in therapeutic support of children and adolescents with neurological conditions. This is much more than just a physical space – it’s a place of hope, care, and transformation. With projects like this, we reaffirm our commitment to initiatives that generate social impact and help build a fairer, more inclusive, and supportive society.”

Cristina Urriza, president of AVAN, emphasized that “it’s been many years of effort, but the new AVAN Terrassa demonstrates the importance of continuing to invest in public-private collaboration as a lever for social sustainability. Only in this way can foundations like AVAN continue to offer specialized services that complement and enhance public resources, ensuring quality, continuity, and close care for those who need it most.”

With this new center, Fundació AVAN strengthens its mission to improve the quality of life of people with neurological conditions and their families bringing neurorehabilitation closer to the community and promoting comprehensive, human, and accessible care.
