. – The International Logistics Exhibition of Barcelona (Salón Internacional de la Logística – SIL), organised by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), will celebrate its 25th anniversary from the 7th to the 9th June with a very special edition. The event is exceeding expectations as, to date, with four months to go, 83% of the total exhibition area has been booked in comparison to the previous edition, which means a projected growth of around 20% to 2022.

Considered to be one of the world’s largest trade fairs in the Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain sector, it has already confirmed the participation of leading companies from France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland, Argentina, USA, Belgium, Australia, Andorra, Finland, the Netherlands, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Chile.   A list that will continue growing in the coming months, until an estimated participation of 650 companies is reached.

Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and president of SIL, has emphasized that “we are very pleased with the progress in the contracting of exhibition spaces and participation in the 25th edition of the SIL, an event that has established itself as a benchmark on the international scene to address the challenges, new trends, innovations and future of logistics, a key sector in the global economy”.

Meanwhile, Blanca Sorigué, CZFB and SIL general manager, said that this edition is very special because SIL is celebrating a quarter of a century and it is doing so like never before. This year, SIL will also host the 18th edition of the European Conference & European Research Seminar, the 39th edition of the ALACAT Congress, and the 19th MedaLogistics Forum, which will enhance business synergies and collaboration between professionals from all over the world”.

Two major international events framed within SIL 2023

Within the framework of SIL 2023, the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona has agreed to hold two important international events where the latest developments in logistics in the era of Industry 4.0 will be discussed.

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the largest international entity in the Supply Chain sector, will be holding the 18th edition the European Conference & European Research Seminar on 8 and 9 June, a double world congress with European focus, which brings together the leading global Supply Chain managers, professionals and academics from all sectors of activity. The topics for discussion will include today’s key challenges, such as sustainability, digitalisation, efficiency, resilience and talent management.

This year’s SIL, from 7 to 9 June, will also host the 39th edition of the ALACAT Congress, organised by the Federation of National Associations of Freight Forwarders and International Logistics Operators of Latin America. ALACAT is the largest logistics event held in Latin America, and this year it returns to SIL, which had already hosted the congress in the 2016 and 2019 editions. Once again, thanks to this collaboration, bridges of business and knowledge exchange will be built between Hispanic and European logistics with the expected attendance of more than 1,000 professionals.

This new edition of the event, the SIL Knowledge, a knowledge programme that will bring together the main stakeholders and where they will present their ideas on the sector, will revolve around four major trends in the field of logistics: Innovation, Sustainability, e-Delivery (last mile) and Talent.
