SIL 2024 ends a successful edition with 15.396 attendees

  • Spain’s leading trade fair for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain and an international benchmark has received more than 15.000 visitors from 93 countries, 90% of them with decision-making power in the logistics activity of their companies.

 

  • Through SIL’s digital platform, 8.733 digital contact exchanges, 3.115 meeting requests and 12.564 messages between attendees have been registered.

 

  • Almost 110 candidates have held a job interview at the Job Market Place that has hosted this last day of the SIL and has had job offers from 12 leading logistics companies.

 

 

Barcelona, 7 June 2024.- SIL Barcelona, the internationally renowned Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain trade fair, organised by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), closed its 24th edition today with more than 15.396 visitors, with 650 participating companies, 35% of them international, and more than 150 events.

The success of this new edition is corroborated by the data provided by the SIL digital platform from which 8.733 digital contact exchanges, 3.115 requests for meetings and 12.564 messages between attendees have been carried out. The SIL 2024 has had the highest representation of Autonomous Communities in its history. Aragon, Extremadura, Galicia, the Canary Islands, Castilla y León, the Region of Murcia and Catalonia have made their infrastructures and logistical advantages known to all interested companies.

This edition has also brought together a wide range of exhibitors who have presented more than 180 innovations in world exclusive on technological solutions, innovations and specialized services in logistics, transport, intralogistics, distribution, last mile, etc. In addition, it has had a complete program of conferences, round tables and parallel activities where current challenges and emerging trends in the industry have been addressed.

The special delegate of the State of the CZFB and president of the SIL, Pere Navarro, wanted to highlight that “SIL Barcelona, once again, has proven to be the epicentre and a global meeting point for the entire logistics industry. The SIL has established itself as the undisputed benchmark where knowledge, networking and innovation converge. During these three intense days, we have witnessed the palpable success thanks to the high profile of all the companies and professionals that have participated, the 180 novelties that have been presented in world exclusive, or the more than 120 startups.vIn addition, we have experienced very interesting conferences that focus on technological transformation, commitment to sustainability, co-creation and public-private collaboration to redefine the future of logistics”.

The last day also commemorated the Day of the Port Community of Barcelona with a cocktail at the stand of the Port of Barcelona, which with a massive participation has become a meeting point for all the organisations that make up the port community of Barcelona to discuss the most relevant issues of the future.  share strategies and create new links.

 

Historic milestone in the field of innovation: maximum participation of startups

This edition has achieved a historic milestone in the field of innovation with the presence of 120 startups, the largest participation of emerging companies in the history of SIL Barcelona. 30 startups have participated from the Logistics 4.0 Incubator promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona. The startups have carried out different networking and business activities, such as the Startup Meeting Area, their pitch session at SIL International Knowledge or the Logistics 4.0 Incubator stand.

Another of this year’s news has been the Digital Supply Chain Exhibition, an exhibition area of what a digital supply chain is, which has been visited and its details and technological challenges known. It has had the participation of some of the companies of DFactory Barcelona and others of the startups incubated in the Logistics 4.0 Incubator.

 

The Job Market Place, a key event for attracting specialized talent

On the last day, the event hosted the Job Market Place, which Barcelona Activa organised in collaboration with the SIL, and had several companies registered with the intention of filling different job vacancies, including Decathlon El Prat, Nou Transport, Columat, DHL Supply Chain, Espritec Spain, Sertrans, Ocean Transport and Appia Group by VGG. 

It is a recruitment and networking space where companies have been able to find candidates according to their needs. A total of 782 candidates applied for the positions offered by the participating companies, from which the 107 who most meet the required profiles were selected, who have held a job interview this morning on this last day of the SIL.

This afternoon the diplomas of the higher-level training cycle in transport and logistics organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya will also be awarded, to recognize new graduates and highlight the importance of professional logistics knowledge and talent to continue advancing and promoting the sector.

The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona has announced the dates of the next edition of the SIL, which is scheduled for June 17 to 20, 2025 in Barcelona.
