Barcelona, 20 June 2025.– SIL Barcelona, Spain’s leading trade fair for the Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain sectors, as well as one of the world’s major benchmarks, organised by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), today closed its 27th edition with more than 15.134 visitors, 650 participating companies—30% of them international—and more than 250 events held.
The success of this new edition is reflected in the figures provided by the SIL virtual AI Platform (SILvIA), which this year incorporates artificial intelligence. There have been 7.363 digital contact exchanges, 2.893 meeting requests and 12.177 messages between attendees. SIL 2025 also saw significant participation from Spain’s Autonomous Communities: Andalusia, Aragon, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia, Canary Islands, Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha and Catalonia, which over the three days showcased their infrastructure and logistics potential.
Ithas also brought together a wide range of exhibitors, who presented more than 163 world-exclusive new products in technological solutions, innovations and specialised services in the field of AI applied to different parts of the logistics chain; robotics to optimise intralogistics; alternative fuels for freight transport; the use of virtual reality to promote logistics talent; mobile automation for picking; autonomous vehicles for the last mile; sustainable logistics mobility; and 4.0 solutions for logistics monitoring, control and security.
The State Special Delegate of the CZFB and President of SIL, Pere Navarro, wished to emphasise that “logistics is a sector that must adapt every day because things are constantly on the move. At this year’s edition of SIL, we have seen how this sector is permanently innovating and providing solutions to needs, without stopping for a single second.” Navarro also added that “we have seen that SIL is a global brand; there is no need to say International Logistics Exhibition because when you mention SIL, everyone knows what it is, and this is because it is a brand with great prestige, not only in Southern Europe but also worldwide. At SIL 2025, we have had 30% of participating companies from abroad and visitors from more than 80 countries, who come to Barcelona to find out what is happening in the sector, but also to connect with different worlds, different companies and to learn about different technologies. We are very satisfied with this year’s edition.”
For her part, Blanca Sorigué, General Director of the CZFB and of SIL, explained that “this year we exceeded 15.000 professional visitors, but what is truly relevant is the profile of these visitors. 94% of the professionals who visit us have told us that they are involved in decision-making in their respective companies, an aspect that the exhibiting companies also value, as they have reported making very high-quality contacts, generating clear business opportunities.” Sorigué went on to explain that “all of this is the result of the effort we make throughout the year to offer a global platform that drives the growth and development of logistics on a global scale. This year we have incorporated artificial intelligence, with SILvIA, to provide participating companies and visitors with a tool that facilitates contacts, topics, innovations and challenges that may be of interest to them. This demonstrates the firm commitment we have from the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and from SIL to continue leading innovation and growth in the logistics sector for many years to come.”
SIL 2025 Best Innovation Awards
The CZFB stand was the ideal place to host the 8th edition of the SIL 2025 Best Innovation Awards ceremony, which this year exceptionally recognised two top innovations. On the one hand, Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport for its innovation Port Virtual Lab, a novel online simulation platform that transforms training in logistics and port operations. This tool combines realism, digitalisation and hands-on experience through ‘serious games’, where users take on roles such as freight forwarders in real international logistics chains.
And, on the other hand, to SISLOG for its AI Platform for optimisation and predictive analysis in logistics, which enhances interaction with companies’ logistics management systems. Thanks to this new solution, users can carry out advanced queries and generate reports directly from the database, without needing technical or programming knowledge, enabling them to solve questions in seconds that speed up decision-making and improve operational accuracy.
It should be noted that the SIL 2025 Award for Best Innovation has a jury made up of representatives from the specialist logistics media, who this year have decided to award the prize “ex aequo” to the European School – Intermodal Transport and SISLOG.
The Job Market Place: key meetings to secure specialised talent
On this final day, the event hosted the Job Market Place, organised by Barcelona Activa in collaboration with SIL, which saw several companies registered with the aim of filling a variety of job vacancies, including Decathlon, Nou Transport, Fundació CARES, Elian Barcelona, Rhenus Logistics, Skynet Worldwide and Ocean Transport.
This is a recruitment and networking space where companies have been able to find candidates who match their needs. A total of 791 candidates applied for the positions offered by the participating companies, from which the 135 most suitable profiles were selected and interviewed this morning on the final day of SIL.
High participation of logistics startups
This edition featured the participation of more than 100 startups, who had the opportunity to present their innovative solutions for the logistics sector within the framework of SIL. These emerging companies took part in various networking and business activities, such as the Startup Meeting Area, their pitching session at the SIL Knowledge, or the Logistics 4.0 Incubator stand.
Moreover, the Digital Supply Chain Exhibition exceeded all expectations and, for the second consecutive year, brought together a multitude of professionals interested in seeing what a digital supply chain looks like. The 15 companies from the Zona Franca de Barcelona ecosystem had the chance to demonstrate live how their innovative solutions work and how these optimise each phase of the supply chain to make it more efficient, sustainable and technological.
The final day also marked the Day of the Barcelona Port Community with a cocktail reception at the Port of Barcelona stand, which, with massive participation, became a meeting point for all the organisations that make up Barcelona’s port community to discuss key strategic issues, exchange action plans and establish new collaborative relationships.
The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona has announced the dates of the next edition of SIL, which is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 June 2026 in Barcelona.
