The Clúster de l’Energia Eficient de Catalunya (CEEC) has joined the second edition of the BNEW

• The special delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, ​​Pere Navarro, and the president of the CEEC, Esther Izquierdo, have signed this morning a collaboration agreement.

• The association, which aims to promote the field of efficient energy management, will collaborate as a partner with a prominent role within the new vertical of Sustainability.

Barcelona, 12 May 2021 – The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) and the Clúster de l’Energia Eficient de Catalunya (CEEC) signed a collaboration agreement by which the association will joing as a partner the new edition of Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), which will take place on October 5 to 8. With this agreement, the CEEC will offer its experience in sustainability and will have a prominent role in BNEW Sustainability, one of the new verticals of the second edition of this event aimed at boosting the economy’s reactivation.

The signing ceremony took place at the CZFB offices and was attended by Esther Izquierdo, president of the Cluster of Efficient Energy of Catalonia and Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and president by BNEW.

Pere Navarro thanked CEEC for its firm commitment to BNEW and assured that “we are proud to be able to count on the collaboration of associations such as CEEC, which share and support our commitment to a new sustainable industrial culture together with the development of the new economy”. Likewise, he also highlighted that “after the success of the first edition, BNEW is a clear example of how the Consorci de la Zona Franca acts as a transformation engine”.

For her part, Esther Izquierdo pointed out that “the Clúster de l’Energia Eficient de Catalunya (CEEC) celebrates this collaboration agreement with the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona within the framework of this year’s BNEW, an event where sustainability and the energy transition process will play a very relevant role. This aspect goes in line with the mission and objectives of our cluster at a time such as the one we’re living, where we face global environmental challenges that makes essential a collaboration between all of us”.

BNEW Sustainability

With a totally innovative, 100% professional and hybrid B2B format, BNEW created a technological precedent in its first edition that generated more than 160 hours of online content within the five activity sectors present at BNEW: Logistics, e-Commerce, Digital Industry, Economic Zones and Real Estate. This year the sectors will double, adding new areas of a more transversal nature: Mobility, Sustainability, Talent, Science and City.

These new areas imply the inclusion of new transcendental sectors for the new economy. This is the context where BNEW Sustainability has appeared, the vertical that offers solutions for private companies and public organizations related to sustainability within different areas, such as fashion, the environment, food or the financial market. In this way, the CZFB intends to highlight within the event the role of sustainability, one of the great priorities of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set in the 2030 Agenda, with which the entity is closely committed.
