Barcelona, 6 March 2019. The Consorci de la Zona Franca and the ‘Fomento del Trabajo’ employers’ association have agreed to create a specific, joint commission to promote the 4.0 economy in a business environment, as a measure to support technology transformation among companies.
Today, the Special State Delegate in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro, and the President of Fomento del Trabajo (Catalan Employers’ Association), Josep Sánchez Llibre, signed a business technology transfer agreement to enhance cooperation between the organisations.
The Catalan employers’ association is a member of the Consorci’s institutional plenary and was one of its founder members in 1916, while the CZFB is a member of the Consultative Council for Development and attends the general assembly of the employers’ association. The organisations have always worked in close collaboration to promote industry and support small and medium size enterprises.
The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona supports projects that drive economic development in Barcelona and Catalonia. During every stage of its history, it has sought out pioneering initiatives with repercussions on projects for the city of Barcelona and, in recent times, it has focused on promoting technology transformation of small and medium enterprises toward the economy 4.0.
Fomento del Trabajo Nacional has been representing strong Catalan entrepreneurs and industry since 1771. As an institution with deep roots in Catalan and Spanish civil society, Fomento also works to assert the social value of entrepreneurship through its contributions to society at large.
