The Consorci de la Zona Franca and Oryon Universal sign a collaboration agreement to boost Barcelona’s startup ecosystem

• The two entities are committed to using the DFactory space, endowed with 17,000 square meters, to organize investment activities and host startups that are under the umbrella of Oryon Universal.

• The goal is to create a suitable environment for the development of startups and generate an ecosystem that promotes the attraction of talent and capital, both national and international, to turn DFactory Barcelona into a space of reference.

Barcelona, February 23^rd, 2022. The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) and Oryon Universal have formalized a collaboration agreement that will promote the revitalization of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Catalan capital. The agreement makes Oryon a startup partner of CZFB and also contemplates that the investment company will be in charge of the entrepreneurial projects branch of DFactory Barcelona, a 17,000 square meter space dedicated to innovation.

The objective is to create a suitable environment for the development of emerging companies with a differential value proposition, to give visibility and support to the ecosystem by promoting activities to attract talent and investment, and to turn DFactory Barcelona into a space of international reference.

With its entry into DFactory Barcelona, Oryon Universal wants to continue strengthening the national entrepreneurial ecosystem with its methodology and involve more players who are committed to talent. “Having a space like DFactory Barcelona will allow us to invest in between 50 and 100 new projects. To do so, we will establish a sustained growth strategy to maintain and improve our already established support model. Our goal is for DFactory Barcelona to become the factory of the best startups”, says Víctor Giné, CEO of Oryon Universal.

Blanca Sorigué, General Manager of CZFB, adds that “we want DFactory Barcelona to also be an ecosystem where startups can develop while being an important pole of attraction of talent and international investment, so we have made this alliance with Oryon Universal, which is fully aligned with this objective.”.
