Barcelona, 31 October 2018. Today, at the 20th International FITAC Congress in Bogotá (Colombia), the Consorci de la Zona Franca (CZFB) presented the international logistics summit that will take place from 26 to 28 June 2018 in Barcelona, which will host five international events around the International Logistics and Maintenance Fair (SIL) and the WFZO World Free Trade Zone Congress.

Pere Navarro, the special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca in Barcelona (CZFB), and general manager Blanca Sorigué, presented the line-up of contents of this summit of international congresses that will take place in Barcelona: the 5th World Congress of the World Free Zones Organization (WFZO), the 21st SIL, the 3rd e-commerce eDelivery exhibition, the International Association of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Congress and Latin American Cargo Meeting ALACAT.

AWARD FOR SIL

The president of the management board of FITAC, Guillermo González Larsen, honoured the SIL with an award in recognition of its contribution to the logistics industry with this exhibition that the Consorci has been organising for 20 years. For a photograph of this important moment, click here.

The FITAC conference is one of the most important in Latin America, and was officially opened by the Colombia’s president, Ivan Duque Marquez and attended by the mayor of Bogotá, Enrique Peñalosa.

Navarro addressed the plenary of the congress with a talk entitled “Challenges to Free Trade Zones in the global context”, presenting the Consorci’s strategic DFactory project, which involves developing the Economy 4.0 in Barcelona’s industrial community. A creative project hub for 3D printing projects will also be created.

Senior representatives of the Consorci also met the president of the Bogotá chamber of commerce, Mónica de Greiff, the president of ALACAT, Galo Molina, the president of Procolombia, Flavia Santoro, and representatives of other organisations in the Colombian economy, strengthening alliances with the Barcelona-based entity and Latin America’s international trade eco-system.
