The fifth edition of BNEW will put on the table the keys, challenges and advances of the new economy

  • Aviation joins Mobility, Digital Industry, Sustainability, Health and Talent as the new vertical of the fifth edition of the event, which will be held from October 7 to 10 at DFactory Barcelona.

 

  • On its fifth anniversary, BNEW will have 350 top international speakers that will give rise to 140 hours of content distributed in 100 panels.

Barcelona, September 3, 2024. – The Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) 2024, an event organized by the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB), will hold its fifth edition from 7 to 10 October at DFactory Barcelona, the internationally renowned industry 4.0 ecosystem. The event will put at the center of the debate the innovations and latest trends in seven sectors considered key to the new economy, such as: Digital Industry, Mobility, Sustainability, Talent, Health and Aviation.

On its fifth anniversary, the event will feature 350 top international speakers who are experts in the different sectors, who will participate in nearly 100 panels, debates and sessions, providing 140 hours of content. To this end, BNEW will maintain its hybrid format, with the transmission of all content via streaming, through the digital platform, from the three sets located in DFactory Barcelona and the celebration of both digital and face-to-face networking activities.

One of the main novelties this year lies in the new BNEW Aviation vertical, which will discuss the latest innovations in aerospace production, air traffic management, carbon footprint reduction, space tourism and training in the sector, as well as the role of women in all this and the future challenges of advanced mobility.

For its part, BNEW Digital Industry continues to stand as one of the main verticals, since the first edition of the event, giving rise to debate on the future of Industry 4.0 and all the technologies involved, but also legislation, data sovereignty, its ecological impact and the empowerment of women in the digital age.

Similarly, BNEW Mobility will occupy a prominent position in the content grid, with sessions dedicated to the electrification of urban transport, connected and autonomous mobility, the integration of AI in traffic management, smart public transport, the impact of micromobility and new business models.

After the success of the last edition, BNEW Health returns with a complete program of content that will discuss digital therapies, predictive models for epidemics, healthy ageing, talent retention, the application of AI, new generation drugs and Data Centres, among other issues.

The SDGs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda will continue to focus the debate on BNEW Sustainability, with panels dedicated to energy transformation, eco-architecture, design, new mobility, Foodtech, the collaborative economy in the restoration of river ecosystems, or sustainable tourism.

The BNEW Talent vertical stands out for a program dedicated to the training of tech employees, new emerging talent in AI, the digital talent market, senior and female talent or the role of young people in the new economy. In addition, the pitches of the startups selected in the BNEW Startup Innovation Hub will be broadcast on this channel.

Finally, BNEW Experience will offer face-to-face attendees the opportunity to network in a fun and casual environment with a program of activities that will highlight Barcelona’s wide range of leisure and culture, from art exhibitions to culinary and immersive experiences.

In the words of the special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro, “we are proud to announce a new edition of an unprecedented event, which connects sectors and industries as different as health or aviation, for example. This makes BNEW a disruptive and innovative event that is committed to the possibilities, new forms and economic paradigm shift offered by new technologies in a context of unprecedented transformation”.

The content program will be distributed as follows over the four days: Digital Industry, Mobility and Sustainability (7 and 8 October) and Talent, Health and Aviation (9 and 10 October).
