Barcelona, 13 February 2025.- The Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW) will hold its fifth edition at DFactory Barcelona from 4 to 6 March 2025, reaffirming itself as an outstanding event focused on gender equality in the business world, and promoting reflection on the role of women in key sectors for the economy. The event organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) once again has the collaboration of the Incyde Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce, the sponsorship of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya and more than 15 partners, who will actively participate in the event. These alliances reinforce the role of the CZFB as a strategic point for the growth of the new economy and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), more specifically SDG5: Gender equality.
The special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro, highlights that “BWAW returns for another year with the aim of giving visibility to the role of women in key sectors for economic growth, such as industry, logistics, health and technology, among others. We already have five editions and we will add as many as necessary in order to contribute to the race to achieve gender equality in the business environment”.
For her part, the director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, expresses her pride in seeing how, “the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week has established itself as a benchmark event, designed to promote equality through collaboration between men and women. Our greatest wish is that there will come a day when this type of meeting is no longer necessary, because it would mean that equality has become a full reality. In the meantime, we will continue to bet on initiatives such as BWAW”.
15 sessions and more than 60 speakers
The event will take place over three days and the content program will be distributed in 15 sessions in which more than 60 speakers with extensive experience will participate, who will share their vision on the progress made and the obstacles that still persist on the road to equality in different professional fields: BPolicies, BLegal, BEducation, Byoung, BEntrepreneurship, BCulture, BTalent, BTechnology, BSocial, BCorporate, BScience, BUnion and BInternational.
The different panels will address fundamental issues for gender equality, such as the promotion of female leadership in entrepreneurship, the role of the third sector in equity, and the transformative impact of administrations on equality policies. The role of culture as a key space for the inclusion and empowerment of women in the corporate sphere will also be analyzed. Likewise, the legal challenges in terms of gender, the recognition of emerging talent, and the importance of the female presence in science will be discussed. Inclusive education, innovation with a gender perspective and female leadership at the international level will be other key issues.
As in previous editions, the entire content program will be broadcast via streaming and can be followed live from anywhere in the world through www.barcelonawaw.com or on the RTVE Play channel. BWAW 2025 can also be followed in person at the DFactory Barcelona auditorium.
