The RACC and El Consorci De La Zona Franca launch the RACC HOP Car Sharing Service to enhance mobility options for more than 4,000 Workers

• RACC Hop is a mobility service designed for companies in based in the outskirts of cities that enables employees to save money and time commuting to work.
• The service connects people to share journeys. It is an easy, intuitive mobile app that enables workers to organise, coordinate meetings, commute and share expenses.
• The service is already in use ten companies on the Consorcio de la Zona Franca and others are expected to join so that their own employees can benefit

Barcelona, 31 October 2019 – The president of the RACC, Josep Mateu, and the Special Delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Pere Navarro, have signed an agreement to implement the new RACC Hop service. This will improve mobility options for more than 4,000 workers at ten companies installed in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (FCC, DB Schenker, Cromogenia, Districenter, Serra Soldadura, BASF, Tacsa, Cailà&Parés, Molenbergnatie and the Consorci de la Zona Franca).

RACC Hop is a mobility scheme that connects passengers and drivers at their own or other local companies who commute to work along the same route every day. Users can travel to and from work together, saving both time and money. This mobile carpooling app will also benefit companies by freeing up space in car parks.

Sustainable mobility

RACC Hop is a mobile app that encourages more respectful behaviour toward the environment and helps to reduce congestion on the main roads connecting cities with industrial and business hubs on the outskirts of metropolitan areas. Shared mobility reduces environmental and acoustic pollution and CO2 emissions, improving air quality. All this goes toward promoting the circular economy and contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
