Barcelona, 19 April 2018. The SIL, the Leading Exhibition for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain in Southern Europe, will celebrate its 20th anniversary from 5 – 7 June. Yesterday, the SIL received a moving award for its career in the framework of the XXVIII Logistic Management Awards of the Spanish Logistic Centre (CEL). The award recognises the SIL’s 20 years serving the logistics sector, evolving with the industry to become the annual meeting for learning about the latest new market ideas and trends and encouraging knowledge interchange.
Blanca Sorigué, managing director of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and of SIL, was delighted to receive the Award from Ana Isabel González Herrera, president of the CEL, and José Estrada, managing director of CEL. “We are touched to receive this award from the Spanish Logistics Centre, an association that represents the entire supply chain management, with whom we have collaborated very closely since SIL’s first edition”, explained Blanca Sorigué. The SIL’s managing director added that “this award is proof that when the Consorci de la Zona Franca decided, back in 1998, to create an exhibition that would serve as a meeting point for business, networking and knowledge interchange for the logistics industry, at a time when the sector was less important than it is today, it was a very wise decision. We’re very satisfied to have contributed to the development of the industry and will continue to serve the logistics’ sector to face the present with guarantees and the future project with success”.
The XXVIII Logistic Management Awards of the Spanish Logistics Centre (CEL), that welcomed more than 300 industry professionals, were handed out yesterday, on April 18 at the Bertelsmann Space in Madrid, coinciding with the celebration of the Logistics Day and the 40th Anniversary of the Spanish Logistics Centre, founded in 1978. These awards were delivered to a total of five categories: Sustainable logistics, Hospital logistics, Logistics Excellency, University Area, and to the Best Logistics Manager.
As a preview of the XXVIII Logistic Management Awards of the Spanish Logistics Centre, Marta García Aller, a journalist from El Independiente and collaborator with Onda Cero as an economic analyst, delivered a very interesting conference based on her book “El Fin del Mundo tal y como lo conocemos” (The end of the world as we know it).
