Zona Franca de Barcelona and the Ibercaja Foundation join forces to promote innovation and talent

- The general director of the Ibercaja Foundation, José Luis Rodrigo, and the general director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, sign an agreement to seek synergies between the Mobility City, DFactory Barcelona and Logistics 4.0 Incubator projects.
- The agreement highlights the willingness of both entities to carry out concrete initiatives to promote innovation, training and good practices in the fields of mobility, technology and logistics.
Barcelona, 9 January 2025.- The general director of the Ibercaja Foundation, José Luis Rodrigo, and the general director of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Blanca Sorigué, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote innovation in areas such as mobility, technology and logistics. The signing ceremony, held this morning at DFactory Barcelona, was also attended by the territorial director of the Mediterranean Arc of IberCaja, Myriam Santos-Moran; the coordinator of the Mobility City, Jaime Armengol; and the head of IberCaja’s Mediterranean Arc Institutions, José María Santos.
The agreement highlights the interest of both entities in seeking synergies between the Mobility City, DFactory Barcelona, and Logistics 4.0 Incubator projects, in the field of innovation and technology, specialized training, the promotion and development of their respective ecosystems and the implementation of projects of common interest in the fields of mobility. technology and logistics, through concrete initiatives.
During the meeting, José Luis Rodrigo stressed that “through this agreement, we contribute to one of the firm commitments for which we work at the Ibercaja Foundation: support for training, innovation and talent. We are also doing so through an alliance with the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, with whom we will strengthen our relationship and work in Mobility City, DFactory Barcelona and Logistics Incubator. From our entity, we believe that synergies between organizations are key to progress and place ourselves at the forefront, especially in sectors such as mobility, technology or logistics”.
Likewise, the text also expresses the intention to promote knowledge sharing and exchange of experiences and good practices in these areas through actions of common interest to both, which include, among others, training activities, the organization of congresses and specialized events, the promotion of innovative services and products, etc.
In this regard, Blanca Sorigué pointed out that “projects such as DFactory Barcelona and the Logistics 4.0 Incubator have become ecosystems of real collaboration between the companies that are part of them, where alliances are established, and common projects are worked on a daily basis. We are confident that the agreement with Fundación Ibercaja will promote these practices with companies that go beyond our ecosystem. The synergies with Mobility City – as a benchmark for sustainable mobility – and our entire innovation ecosystem, especially that related to logistics and mobility, will surely generate great opportunities”.
After the signing of the agreement, a visit was made to the facilities of DFactory Barcelona and Logistics 4.0 Incubator, in which the delegation of the Ibercaja Foundation was able to learn first-hand about the activity of the companies and the most outstanding success stories.
