Barcelona, 17 May 2018. The 2nd edition of eDelivery Barcelona Expo & Congress, organised by the Consorci de la Zona Franca in Barcelona, will feature highly innovative, disruptive, high-impact solutions to enhance eCommerce, Logistics and Supply Chain for any online business. From 5 to 7 June the event will be back with delivery strategy solutions for eCommerce businesses and networking opportunities for suppliers, brands, retailers and pure players. EDelivery Barcelona will coincide with SIL 2018, Southern Europe’s leading trade fair for logistics, transport, intralogistics and supply chain management.

The great novelty of this edition of eDelivery Barcelona will be the exhibition area dedicated to startups. This is the Startup Connection Hub, a space where 15 disruptive companies will showcase solutions designed to respond to the last mile delivery problem. Startup Connection Hub, sponsored by Banco Sabadell and Barcelona City Council in collaboration of La Salle Technova, will be an opportunity for this type of companies to present creative, innovative solutions to companies, investors and corporate ventures from around the world.

Jordi Cornet, Special State Delegate in the Consorci de la Zona Franca in Barcelona and President of eDelivery Barcelona, says that “the economy 4.0 will change people’s lives, therefore, eDelivery Barcelona wants to encourage innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises to achieve more efficient allocation of resources and to respond to the challenges we face”. Cornet added that “this year, visitors to the exhibition will get a first-hand look at disruptive solutions and the latest trends in the delivery sector”.

This edition of eDelivery Barcelona sent a call out to 650 international startups, more than 60 of which responded, and five of which have been selected to participate, in the event, free of charge. These 5 startups are also the finalists for the eDelivery Barcelona Best Startup Award, sponsored by Banco Sabadell, that will be handed out during the closing ceremony on Thursday, 7 June at noon. The startups selected are: ChainGo, Elioport, Freightalia, Manzaning and Outvio.

From blockchain technology to robots for last mile delivery

There are some very disruptive, ingenious proposals among the finalists. ChainGo offers solutions based on blockchain technology focused on the carriage of goods by sea. Elioport suggests a fleet of robots for loading and unloading goods to solve the problem of last mile delivery. Freightalia enables freight forwarders to send quotes to their clients in real time. The Manzaning platform enables digitization of small, local traders, making them competitive with department stores and online traders. Finally, Outvio has a platform where any online shop can be integrated, without having to develop custom software, with global deliveries at low prices, unified order tracking on a map and real-time business statistics and automatic returns.

Technology, the great delivery revolution

There will be a top-level conference at eDelivery Barcelona with more than 50 speakers, who will include some of the most authoritative voices in the sector. Entitled “Technology, the great delivery revolution”, eDelivery Barcelona Congress will present cases of the most successful digital business companies like Bauhaus, Ametller Origin, Día, FNAC, Worten, Zalando, Decathlon, Bon Área, Deliveroo, Grupo Cortefiel, Casa Viva, Westwing, Pisamonas, Electrocosto, Stuart, IBM, Privalia, Las Muns, StylePsychology, Colvin, Piensaymascotas and Swarovski.

Blanca Sorigué, General Director of the Consorci de la Zona Franca and eDelivery Barcelona, explained that “The Congress is one of the pillars of eDelivery Barcelona, and this year the session is devoted to innovation and the latest trends in deliveries, final mile and operations, global trade and cross-border, and cyber security blockchain, omni-channel delivery operations, customer care and peak demand, among others”.

#The Retailer Club, an excellent place for networking

One of the highlights of eDelivery Barcelona is its programme of networking activities to encourage contacts and business. That is the idea behind #The Retailer Club, a space where the companies participating in the event can meet CEOs, COOs, CIOs, eCommerce Managers and Logistics & Supply Chain Managers of major retailers and e-tailers through Speed Dating and a Networking Lunch. Companies like Abacus, Bicimarket.com, Bricomart, Bebitus, Gocco, Desigual, La Sirena, Mercadona, Druni Perfumeries, Zooplus, Pikolinos, IKEA, Pepe Jeans, Torrons Vicens, Macson, Leroy Merlin, Casa Viva, Electrocosto, GM Food Iberica… are among the companies that are part of #The Retailer Club.
