BNEW 2021 projects recovery with a broad innovation program

- The second edition of the event organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) presents a program extended to 10 verticals: Logistics, Real Estate, Ecommerce, Economic Zones, Digital Industry, Talent, Science, Mobility, City and Sustainability.

Barcelona, 31 August 2021. –BNEW – Barcelona New Economy Week, organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and which will take place from October 5 to 8 in Barcelona, continues to warm up. The event, which wants to project the recovery of the world economy from Barcelona this year will feature 10 verticals, consolidating itself as the only major multisectoral international event.
The new edition of BNEW will feature once again the five thematic areas that opened the event in 2020 (Logistics, Real Estate, Ecommerce, Economic Zones, and Digital Industry) adding up this year five more topics with a transversal approach: Talent, Science, Mobility, City and Sustainability. All the topics will have an extensive program of sessions and prominent speakers that will bring together the main keys and challenges for an economic recovery based on innovation and new business opportunities derived from digitization and sustainability.
BNEW will keep its 100% professional and hybrid character (digital and face-to-face). Registration is free and already open through its website: www.bnewbarcelona.com. In the first edition, the event recorded nearly 11,000 registrants from more than a hundred countries, a figure that the organization hopes to far exceed this year.
Quality discussions and panels for its ten verticals
Each BNEW sector will have its own program of debates and panels with the participation of leading international professionals and experts. In total, there will be more than 800 top-level speakers taking part in more than 240 session hours. In the case of BNEW Logistics, debates will focus on such relevant topics as the challenges of last-mile logistics, the balance between new consumption patterns and sustainability or the problems derived from the saturation of large port infrastructures.
For its part, the BNEW Real Estate sessions will focus on investment opportunities in the sector, as well as challenges and trends in the residential market. The vertical will also emphasis on the impact of teleworking in the office segment or the emergence of digitization through Proptech.
BNEW Ecommerce will debate the keys to digitization in global commerce after the pandemic, the improvement of the customer experience, the boom in marketplaces or the emergence and opportunities that payment opens with cryptocurrencies.
Another area that will be delivered once again this year is BNEW Digital Industry that will deal with new manufacturing technologies, new applications for sectors such as agriculture or health, as well as the impact of 5G on the industry. BNEW Economic Zones will also be a key topic this year and will analyze the role of economic zones in economic recovery and boosting global trade.
Regarding this second edition new topics, BNEW Talent will debate on scene how to attract and retain talent in the new economy, as well as which are the new profiles associated with digitization and the challenges for the educational systems of the future. Connected to this area, BNEW Science will address aspects such as the importance of public-private collaboration to favor the transfer of knowledge and to develop links between science and companies in the 4.0 economy.
The BNEW 2021 program is completed with three topics concerning the challenges of sustainability and metropolitan environments. BNEW Sustainability will focus its discussions on the keys to sustainability in large sectors such as food or fashion, as well as the challenges of climate change and waste management in industrial activity. BNEW Mobility will be centered on the advancement of electric and sustainable mobility and the new associated business opportunities, and finally BNEW City will provide a great entertainment proposal based on the potential that Barcelona has at a cultural level. For this reason, the BNEW spaces will feature furniture from designers based in Barcelona and, throughout the 4 days of the event, concerts will be held at Casa Seat and showcookings by renowned chefs and merchants from La Boquería.
A world of business opportunities
One of BNEW’s strengths will continue to be its networking program to generate contacts among all those attending the event, being the only major multi-sector event that promotes synergies between companies and professionals from very diverse activities, but always with innovation as the point of union.
