BNEW introduces five new verticals in its seventh edition

- Gaming, AI, Energy, Agrofood, and Science will be the new additions to the seventh edition of Barcelona New Economy Week, joining the existing verticals of Talent, Aviation & Space, and Health.
- The event will maintain its hybrid format, with live streaming through the BNEW Platform, while strengthening the in-person experience to become the meeting point for leaders of the new economy.
- In-person attendees will have the opportunity to access the various networking spaces and initiatives, as well as the full experiential activities program, upon registration.
Barcelona, July 6, 2026. – Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) 2026, an event organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), will hold its seventh edition from October 5 to 7 at DFactory Barcelona. The event will maintain its hybrid format, with all content streamed live through its digital platform, while further enhancing the in-person experience through dedicated networking spaces and an extensive program of experiential activities. These will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with eight of the leading sectors of the new economy: Aviation & Space, Agrofood, Gaming, Talent, Science, Health, AI, and Energy.
In this way, the event will bring new topics into the discussion, including: the impact of AI on employment and the new economy; interdisciplinary science and open innovation; the revolution of new materials and nanotechnology; the most significant discoveries in recent years in the fields of astronomy and space; the energy transition; the contribution of data to efficiency and energy management; the new geopolitical landscape and its impact on the aerospace and defence industry; automation and surgical robotics; new healthcare delivery models; technological advances in the agri-food sector; smart water management; the food of the future; the transformation of the video game industry; financing and the launch of new products and developments in the sector; and the business of gaming beyond entertainment.
According to Pere Navarro, Executive Chairman of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), “since its inception, BNEW has been a living, evolving, and resilient event, just like the new economy itself. And this seventh edition will be no exception, with the addition of new verticals that we believe must be part of the event, given their growing importance in the global economic landscape, such as Artificial Intelligence, the agri-food sector, energy, science, and the video game industry.”
BNEW 2026: A truly unique experience
In its seventh edition, BNEW is expected to bring together nearly 270 leading national and international speakers, participating in more than 50 panels, debates, and sessions across three television-style studios. In addition, the event will feature a comprehensive programme of more than 30 experiential activities, offering visitors a unique opportunity to discover the latest innovations in some of the industries driving the new economy, while also exploring part of the cultural, leisure, and design offerings of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. Once again, all of this will take place at DFactory Barcelona, the internationally renowned Industry 4.0 ecosystem promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB).

The event will maintain its hybrid format, with all content streamed live so that it can be followed from anywhere in the world.
