Barcelona, July 16, 2026.- The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) and the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation (MWCapital) signed a collaboration agreement today at DFactory Barcelona with the aim of fostering technological innovation and accelerating the transfer of knowledge to the productive sector.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation to explore joint initiatives in strategic areas such as technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and the development of solutions based on emerging technologies, particularly those linked to Industry 4.0 and advanced logistics.

This alliance brings together two key pillars of Barcelona’s innovation ecosystem: MWCapital’s technology transfer program, The Collider, which supports scientific and technological projects in their transition from the laboratory to the market, and the CZFB Logistics 4.0 Incubator, focused on developing innovative solutions across the logistics value chain. Both organizations share the commitment to fostering an environment that facilitates connections between scientific talent, entrepreneurship, and industrial needs, encouraging the creation of new technology-based companies with economic and social impact.

The non-binding agreement establishes a basis for identifying opportunities for collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange, and jointly participating in initiatives that contribute to strengthening Barcelona’s technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Potential areas of cooperation include organizing joint activities, participating in innovation-related events, and exploring projects linked to technology transfer.

Blanca Sorigué, General Director of CZFB, welcomed the agreement, stating that “it strengthens collaboration between the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and MWCapital to promote innovation and technology transfer in the city, while also representing a strategic step toward connecting scientific and business talent with the real needs of the logistics sector and Industry 4.0. This agreement is a lever for generating new entrepreneurial opportunities and attracting high-impact projects, while further reinforcing Barcelona’s position as a leading hub for innovation and talent”.

For his part, Laia Corbella, CEO at MWCapital, said: “Barcelona has a unique ecosystem of talent, research, and innovation. Through this alliance with the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, we want to strengthen the connection between knowledge, entrepreneurship, and industry by combining our capabilities in technology transfer with CZFB’s expertise in Industry 4.0 and advanced logistics. Our goal is to create new opportunities to transform innovation into high-impact solutions that address real societal challenges”.

Through this initiative, CZFB further strengthens the positioning of DFactory Barcelona as a leading international hub for Industry 4.0, consolidating its role as a meeting point for companies, startups, and knowledge centers.
