El CZFB explains its support for the Economy 4.0 at the 21st FITAC International Trade Congress

  • Special Delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona Pere Navarro participated in the 21st Colombian Federation of Logistics Agents in International Trade Conference (FITAC) which ended yesterday.

 

  • Navarro talked about the success of the 3D Factory Incubator and the DFactory project which are transforming Barcelona into the European capital of the Economy 4.0 to an audience of more than 500 international trade executives.

 

Barcelona, 26 October 2019. The Special Delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) Pere Navarro and the managing director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, participated in the 21st Colombian Federation of Logistics Agents in International Trade Conference (FITAC) from 24 to 25 October in Barranquilla (Colombia).

During the first day of the 21st Colombian Federation of Logistics Agents in International Trade Conference (FITAC), which was attended by the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, the Special Delegate of the State in the CZFB gave an interesting presentation on digital transformation and the Economy 4.0. He presented the 3D Factory Incubator and the DFactory project, which together will create an ecosystem of industrial companies with advanced digital technology on the industrial estate of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone. Pere Navarro said that the participation of the CZFB in the International FITAC Congress “was an opportunity to tell the world that there is a new way of manufacturing, distributing and establishing business links… which is changing business relationships as we know them and is presenting a lot of opportunities for the future. In this regard we have presented our success story with the 3D Factory Incubator – Europe’s first high-tech 3D printing incubator- and the Dfactory project which will make Barcelona the European capital of the economy and industry 4.0.”.

The 21st International FITAC Congress, which was attended by more than 500 international business executives from around the world, mainly from Latin America, Spain and the United States, ended yesterday. At the closing event, the special Delegate of the State in the CZFB also took part in a panel discussion entitled “Prospects and challenges for free trade zones”  moderated by the Director General of the Free Zones of the Andi, Edgar Orlando Martínez. Other participants included the President of the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFA), Gustavo González de la Vega, and the Executive Director of indirect taxes and global trade at EY, Gustavo Adolfo Lorenzo.
