Barcelona, February 9th, 2022.- The president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, has visited this morning the headquarters of the Consortium of the Free Zone of Barcelona (CZFB), where she has been received by Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB, and Blanca Sorigué, general director of the entity, who have accompanied her throughout the tour.
After leaving her signature in the CZFB’s Book of Honor, Armengol has visited the 3D Incubator, where she has been able to confirm the success of the CZFB and Leitat’s initiative, with the help of FEDER funds through the Incyde Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce, which next March will celebrate three years of operation and has already incubated 79 companies.
Finally, the Balearic President has visited the DFactory Barcelona facilities, an Industry 4.0 node with an ecosystem of companies offering technology and demanding technological solutions that promotes the attraction of talent, technology and investment in a unique space.
The special delegate of the State in the CZFB and president of DFactory Barcelona, Pere Navarro, has thanked President Armengol for her visit and stressed the importance of the entity for “the economic and social revitalization of the metropolitan region of Barcelona, which seeks to transform the Spanish productive fabric and accompany companies in their digitization process. Barcelona has all the ingredients to become the epicenter of Industry 4.0 and at CZFB we have key tools to carry out this transformation”.
Francina Armengol has also been able to see first-hand the commitment of the Consortium of the Free Zone of Barcelona to innovation and sustainability with unique initiatives such as the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), the project of the Post Office building located on the Via Laietana in Barcelona or the EcoCircular ZF program. The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands has also known all the details of the second edition of the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW) or the twenty-second edition of SIL, the Leading Trade Fair for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain in Southern Europe.
