Barcelona, October 24, 2025.– The Logistics 4.0 Incubator, the incubator dedicated to logistics 4.0 promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) in collaboration with the Incyde Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce, participated in the “Talent and High Technology Incubators” event, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed of the Government of the Canary Islands in collaboration with the Incyde Foundation.
The CZFB presented the model of the Logistics 4.0 Incubator as a success story, being the first incubator in Spain dedicated to Industry 4.0 in the field of the logistics sector value chain. In its first two years, it has hosted more than 60 startups from over 20 countries, with a survival rate of 88.1% among incubated projects. In total, it has generated 457 jobs, more than 1,500 clients, and has received a total of 111 awards and recognitions.
The Special State Delegate at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Pere Navarro, points out that “the Logistics 4.0 Incubator is part of the CZFB’s clear commitment to promoting innovation in one of the key sectors for society, such as logistics. This is a sector that represents approximately 7% of Spain’s GDP and is undergoing a process of digitalization and transformation, in which startups have a lot to contribute. Proof of this is the success of some projects that have passed through the incubator and are now consolidated companies.”
Some success stories of startups incubated in Logistics 4.0 that have become established companies include solutions for Click & Collect through smart lockers that allow the management of delivery, collection, and return of any refrigerated purchase and parcels, recruitment platforms for the logistics sector, and software companies for land transport that incorporate AI-based functionalities for accident prevention, theft prevention, and improved communication with freelance drivers. Some of these companies already have turnovers of 5 million euros, hundreds of clients, and more than 60 employees.
For her part, Blanca Sorigué, General Director of the CZFB, notes that “more and more startups are managing to carve out a niche in the logistics sector. According to data from the Logistics Circle Barometer, 77% of logistics directors participating in the study support startups. In fact, 24.8% of the companies surveyed already collaborate with one, and 52.2% believe it could be positive to hire or outsource services to emerging companies specializing in logistics.”
The event, focused on innovative entrepreneurship and the opportunities of the technological incubation ecosystem in the islands, brought together a dozen incubators from across Spain, dedicated to various fields such as health, blue economy, marine environment, automotive, green and digital transition, biotechnology, science, etc. Notable participants included: Abioinnova (Salamanca), Marino-Marítima (Gran Canaria), Cajamar Innova (Almería), High Tech Auto (Vigo), Incubazul (Cádiz), Matriz (Jaén), BioIncubaTech (Santiago de Compostela), UCAM HiTech (Murcia), Córdoba Biotech (Andalusia), SODECAN (Canary Islands), Logistics 4.0 Incubator and 3D Incubator (Barcelona).
