Barcelona, June 5, 2026. – SIL Barcelona, organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), concludes today its 28th edition, having welcomed 15,412 visitors from 87 countries, with the participation of more than 600 companies, 30% of them international, and the hosting of more than 200 events. These very positive figures are further confirmed by networking data from the digital platform SIL virtual IA Platform (SILvIA), which recorded more than 5,500 interactions. Over the three days of the event, 7,632 digital contact exchanges, 2,976 meeting requests, and more than 10,000 messages between attendees were registered.

The Executive President of CZFB and President of SIL, Pere Navarro, gave a very positive assessment of this year’s edition and highlighted that “adaptability is one of the most outstanding characteristics of the logistics sector because everything is in constant motion. At this year’s SIL, we have seen how dynamic and disruptive this sector is, as demonstrated by the more than 160 innovations presented by participating companies”. Navarro also added that “SIL 2026 featured 30% international participating companies and visitors from more than 87 countries, who come to Barcelona to discover the latest sector trends, but also to connect with all links in the supply chain, with companies that are innovating, and to discover different technologies. It has been a very positive edition”.

For her part, Blanca Sorigué, Director General of CZFB and SIL, stressed that “93% of the professionals who visited SIL 2026 told us they are involved in decision-making within their respective companies. For me, this is the key indicator that demonstrates SIL’s strength, as many participating companies have told us they made high-quality contacts, generating clear business opportunities”.

Overall, SIL Barcelona was supported in this edition by more than 90 partners and backed by the following sponsors: MERLIN and DP World (Nit de la Logística); Barcelona City Council, Cimalsa, and the Government of Catalonia (SIL Knowledge); Orange Empresas (Theater), SAP (SIL Lab), and Exotec by Dexter, Cuatrecasas, Engie Vianeo, and Prologis (SIL Knowledge session).

A platform for inspiration and business shaping the future of the supply chain

The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona explained at a press conference held this morning during the event that SIL is entering a new strategic phase with a profound change in positioning, which will materialize from its 2027 edition onwards. SIL will evolve into the Logistics Innovation Show, consolidating itself as a platform for inspiration, knowledge and business generation, where the future of the supply chain and international trade is anticipated. This qualitative leap responds to the accelerated transformation of the logistics sector, driven by the incorporation of advanced technologies, sustainability, digitalization and the need for specialized talent. In this context, SIL is no longer just a sector meeting point but becomes the space where the evolution of the sector is presented, experienced and understood in real time.

During the presentation event, Pere Navarro explained that “the logistics and transport sector represents around 7% of Spain’s GDP, which demonstrates its strategic role in the economy, the competitiveness of companies and the connection of our markets. Logistics is an essential activity, constantly in motion, and it must adapt quickly to the major technological, economic and social changes we are experiencing”. He added that “the SIL has evolved from the very beginning, just as logistics itself has evolved. And this new stage responds precisely to that transformation: today we speak of innovation more than ever, because logistics is also artificial intelligence, automation, data, sustainability, traceability, robotics and talent. With the new SIL, we aim to continue supporting the sector by connecting experience and innovation, and projecting from Barcelona the future of a more intelligent, efficient and competitive logistics”.

For her part, Blanca Sorigué highlighted that “this new positioning responds to the real needs of the sector. We want SIL to be the place where companies can tangibly showcase how technology, talent and sustainability are redefining logistics. We are committed to an experiential format that allows professionals to experience and understand the future ahead of anyone else”.

A new model: experiential platform, innovation and business

The new SIL is designed as a dynamic and experiential environment where companies will practically showcase their solutions and innovations, bringing professionals closer to the trends that are redefining global logistics. In this way, the event positions itself as the annual meeting point for logistics innovation, as a space to anticipate sector changes and a platform that integrates business, talent, knowledge and international reach.

The trade fair will strengthen its role as a showcase for technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, data analytics and smart mobility, as well as solutions aimed at operational efficiency and sustainability. In addition, it will continue to promote qualified networking, the creation of business opportunities and connections between companies, startups, investors and professionals, consolidating its ecosystem as one of the most relevant worldwide.

A new stage to continue leading the sector

With this evolution, SIL reaffirms its commitment to continue leading the transformation of logistics and global trade, consolidating itself as the major international meeting point where innovation, talent and business converge.

This new stage is accompanied by a change in the brand image of SIL Barcelona. The new logo presented this morning at a press conference conveys innovation, connection, solutions, impact, synergies, technology, and a promising future for the new Barcelona Logistics Innovation Fair (SIL Barcelona).

The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona has announced the dates of the 29th edition of SIL, which will take place from June 9 to 11 in Barcelona.
