The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona will sponsor the Award for Innovation within the framework of the 25th edition of the Cecot Association’s Nit de l’Empresari

Barcelona, 22 July 2019.  Pere Navarro, Special State Delegate in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and Antoni Abad, President of business organisation Cecot, signed a sponsorship agreement to promote and reward efforts in business innovation in the framework of the 25th edition of the Nit de l’Empresari organised by Cecot.

The event will return to the Catalan capital on Tuesday, 22 October, at the same location as the last two years: the TNC. “This event is sure to be very special since we will be celebrating 25 years acknowledging the work of Cecot member companies in the first instance, and generically, everything that all the companies in our country do every day”, said Abad.

The Consorci’s efforts to boost the digital transformation in companies and to support the business fabric in the area of innovation are the main reason for the rapprochement between both entities. They share a vision of a state-of-the-art productive structure in the field of innovation and to intensify changes in the area to accelerate processes of digital transformation in SMEs.

In this regard, the Consorci supports and encourages recognition of innovation with the awards that it sponsors every year. The award aims to recognise highly innovative projects with products and processes developed by companies, technological and research centres, universities and colleges, in 2018, in any of these four categories: product or service innovations; process innovations; marketing and communication innovations; organisational change and management.

All participating projects must involve an aspect of business generation, incorporation of all types and applications of digital technologies. The Consorci specifies in the grounds on which companies opting for this category are evaluated based on a trajectory firmly linked to innovation through the use of techniques and Internet tools, fostering collaborative work and collective creativity.

Nominations for the prize may be submitted until the 2 August 2 via email info@nitdelempresari.com or by post to Cecot (c. Sant Pau, 6 08221 de Terrassa). The association has launched a website where those interested can download the form for submitting candidatures and for more information (nitdelempresari.com). The jury will deliberate on 19 September.
