Barcelona, September 8, 2022. In line with its goal of further fostering and developing the industry 4.0, the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) incorporates Virtual Doctors and Medicines (VDMHealth) into its ecosystem of companies in the DFactory Barcelona building, a 17,000 square metre space dedicated to innovation.
VDMHealth is a company that, using algorithms and Artificial Intelligence, offers innovative solutions of great added value for the improvement of medical care in all healthcare areas, offering guaranteed benefits for health professionals and patients. It features an intelligent platform comprising support tools to automate and gain precision in pre-assessment procedures and diagnosis, drug prescription, treatment, and aftercare in real time and on-demand. This system is under constant development and research about new treatments for the most common diseases, such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, or other chronic diseases. Thanks to the formalization of the partnership agreement with CZFB, the organisation now has its own office at DFactory Barcelona where it can continue working on innovative technological solutions, as well as begin to generate synergies and establish alliances with other companies located in the building to jointly develop new initiatives.
The goal of this sustainable and unique building is to create a proper environment for the development of emerging companies with a differential value proposal, as well as giving visibility and support to the ecosystem by promoting activities to attract talent and investment, turning DFactory Barcelona into an international benchmark centre. In fact, it can be considered as the main hub of Industry 4.0 in southern Europe, thus it gathers large business corporations, start-ups, innovation centres and labs. In this short lifetime, it already has an occupancy rate of 40%, with 30 companies and 150 people working in a single area.
“Our facilities are equipped with all the necessary characteristics to lead the transformation towards a new economy, but to do so, it is essential to continue strengthening public-private collaboration”, explains Pere Navarro, the Special State Delegate in the CZFB. “The incorporation of VDMHealth to the DFactory, company with which we share the vision of the project, is a great step forward for our ecosystem of 4.0 companies that will help us continue to grow and consolidate this evolution”, he adds.
Jordi Ferrer, CEO of Virtual Doctor and Medicines stated that “we are very pleased to have been invited to join DFactory Barcelona and to be part of the ecosystem that is setting Spain on the path to lead digitisation in Europe and the rest of the countries”.
