The Consorci starts a collaboration with the “Forma’t al Port” initiative of the European School of Intermodal Transport

Barcelona, 28 November 2018. The Consorci de la Zona Franca has reached an agreement with the European School of Intermodal Transport, an organisation that provides training in intermodality, particularly sea and rail, to collaborate with its “Forma’t al Port” programme, currently in its second three-year period (2017-2020).
Pere Navarro, Delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Eduard Rodés, Manager of the European School and Joaquim Cabané, president of the Work Group for Training and Occupation of the Governing Board for the Development of the Port Community of Barcelona, have signed a cooperation agreement whereby the Consorci will become a strategic sponsor of this programme driven by the Port of Barcelona and sponsored by the Government of Barcelona Province, Barcelona City Council, the European School and sector associations and companies.
Blanca Sorigué, general manager of the CZFB, Victor Francos, manager of the Office of the Special Delegate of the State and Marta Miquel, manager of the ”Forma’t al Port” programme.
“Forma’t al Port” for Transport and Logistics and International Trade students, will end in 2018 with 415 students, an extremely high rate of participation. The courses encourage students to join dual training programmes in sector companies, preparing a logistics community capable of overcoming the strategic challenges facing the region of Catalonia.
The Consorci de la Zona Franca will have an active role on the panel of professionals of the sector of the Training and Occupation work group of the Governing Board for the Promotion of the Port Community of Barcelona.
“Forma’t al Port” has completed two Management courses in Genoa for second-year students and will start again in January with courses for first-year students. Because of the success achieved this year, the programme will continue, with the objective of helping to position Barcelona and Catalonia at the cutting edge of the international logistics sector.
