Leading with vocation and without fear: gender equality in healthcare, with Cristina Capdevila
In this episode of ODS5, the female talent podcast from Zona Franca Barcelona, we talk with Cristina Capdevila, manager of the Bellvitge University Hospital, one of the reference centers of the public health system. Based on his experience leading an institution in a predominantly female sector, we reflect on equal opportunities and the importance of incorporating the gender perspective in health management.
Cristina shares her professional career and explains how she has combined her career with motherhood and the demands of a hospital that provides care throughout the year. She also highlights the value of flexibility and the support of the teams to favor reconciliation, and remembers those who were referents on her way and helped her grow professionally.
During the conversation, we talked about his medical vocation, born from a family experience that marked his childhood, and how from management he can also contribute to improving health care. In addition, we address the differences linked to sex in prevention and treatment, on the way to an increasingly personalized medicine.
This episode is an invitation to pursue one’s own goals without fear, train and surround yourself with people who promote growth. As Cristina advises, when you fight for what you want, you can get it.
