Barcelona, February 6th 2024 – Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW) will hold its fourth edition from 5 to 7 March 2024, consolidating itself as a benchmark event that revolves around gender equality in business and invites reflection on the visibility of women in key areas of the economy. The event, organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), is once again organized in collaboration with the Incyde Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce and contributes to making Barcelona visible as a key city for the development of the new economy and committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year, as a new feature, the event will take place over three days and the program will be divided into fourteen sessions. The different panels will address topics such as gender equality in the legal field, the presence of women in industry 4.0, the figure of women in the audiovisual environment, parity in large corporations and in the public sector, professional retraining in middle age, human resources management and the visibility of female talent in sectors such as programming, pharmaceuticals and health. All of this will be presented by speakers with extensive experience and a long professional career, who will analyze the reality of their respective sectors, the achievements made, as well as the main obstacles they encounter in their day-to-day work on the road to equality.

The special delegate of the State at the CZFB, Pere Navarro, emphasizes that “BWAW returns once again this year to highlight the role of women in strategic sectors for economic development, such as industry, logistics, health and technology, among others. This event is a clear example of the commitment adopted by the CZFB to SDG 5: gender equality”.

For the director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, “it is a source of pride to see how Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week, in just four editions, has consolidated itself as a benchmark event designed by men and women for men and women, as this is the only way in which equality is understood and can really be achieved. Hopefully the day will come when we will have to stop holding this event because it will mean that we will have reached a situation of absolute normality”.

As in previous editions, the different sessions that will be held at DFactory Barcelona will be broadcast via a streaming platform and can be followed live from anywhere in the world, through the website www.barcelonawaw.com.
