Barcelona, 29 October 2019. El Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) is taking part as the Main Sponsor at the Industry from Needs to Solutions trade fair, an ideal platform for showcasing the work being done by this Barcelona organisation to promote the Economy and the Industry 4.0. The CZFB and the Fundación LEITAT have launched the highly successful 3DFactory Incubator, Europe’s first high-tech 3D printing incubator, an initiative that will be showcased on a spacious stand measuring more than 100 square metres. This is a pivotal project for the CZFB, which is creating an extensive ecosystem of industrial companies specialised in advanced digital technology.

Special Delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona Pere Navarro explained that “the Economy 4.0 and digital technology are creating a window of opportunities for companies, for achieving the sustainable development goals and for progress of people. Dfactory is designed to enable small and medium companies, start-ups and micro-companies to tackle the technology and disruption ahead”Navarro added that DFactory “has set out to convert Barcelona into the European capital of the economy and industry 4.0. This space will house diverse businesses which will manufacture things together, because one of its main features will be the ability to combine different methods of manufacturing products”.
