More than 50 start-ups participate in BNEW 2022 Start-up Innovation Hub

- The Program is a unique meeting point for companies, entrepreneurs and investors to connect with each other, collaborate in an open innovation environment and drive projects with economic and social impact.
- The 10 best projects will be nominated for the BNEW awards in the categories of real estate, sustainability, talent, mobility and digital industry.
- The winning projects will be announced at a gala dinner to be held on 5 October at the France Station.
Barcelona, 20 September 2022. – More than 50 startups will participate in the BNEW Startup Innovation Hub, as part of the third edition of Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), which will be held from 3rd to 6th of October at DFactory.
According to their professional activity, the startups will participate in the following verticals: Digital Industry, Real Estate, Mobility, Talent and Sustainability. The digital industry vertical will include the participation of 3dthinks, AirTrace Technologies and Aptugo Limited, among others; about real estate: Bambai, Bitskout, Buildlovers Technology, etc; in the sustainability industry: CargoBici, Last Mile Team, Le Petit Planet, etc; in mobility: CamperXpress, Dezentracom, Innovative Porting; and, finally, in talent industry: go4clic, Here and Now 2019, Opground…
It is important to note that, the BNEW Startup Innovation Hub is a unique meeting point to learn about technological advances in the industry and connect between corporate companies, potential partners and investors. The main goal of the Program is, on the one hand, to find new companies that will revolutionise the new economy and, on the other hand, to give them the opportunity to form part of an environment of innovation, with multiple opportunities to create synergies and generate business.
In this sense, each of the participating startups will have the opportunity to present a creative and innovative solution to leading industrial companies from around the world, investors, and venture capital firms. In addition, they will be able to prepare a 5-minute pitch in front of a specialised audience.
In parallel, emerging companies will be able to networking through B2B meetings and the BNEW platform with professionals from different economic sectors, industries, companies, administrations and institutions, as well as access specialised knowledge of the sector with free tickets.
The 10 best projects will also be direct candidates for the BNEW awards in the categories Best Startup Award (one award per sector). Finally, the selected projects will be published in the BNEW Startup Directory with the best startups of the year.
For the special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Pere Navarro, “this space in an international reference event like BNEW is a unique opportunity for startups to underpin their growth and visibility”. He continues: “The formula of participation, collaboration and open innovation will allow startups to connect with investors, entrepreneurs and the productive network to drive projects with economic and social impact”. For her part, Blanca Sorigué, director general of the CZFB, says that “this programme is the perfect setting to see the ideas and projects that can shape the 4.0 economy”.
Selection of projects
The BNEW Awards will be presented on 5 October at 8 p.m. at the France Station, with the winning startups in each of the verticals (Digital Industry, Real Estate, Mobility, Talent, Sustainability).
The jury of the BNEW 2022 Best Start-ups Awards will evaluate the submitted solutions according to the impact of the project for the industry, the capacity of the management teams and the high-value technological solutions that bring sustainable competitive advantages. The jury will also assess the sustainable growth potential of the startup, its ability to influence the economy and society and its innovation component.
Utvyakta, Decoditive, Alén Space, Newe, Advanced Air Mobility, The Predictive Company, The Blue Box Biomedical Solutions, Econcrete and Opground were awarded in the second edition of the awards, in a ceremony chaired by the First Vice-President and Minister for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño.
