SIL 2024 is promoted at the FITAC International Congress in Colombia

- SIL Barcelona participates in the annual event of the Colombian Federation of Logistics Agents in International Trade which brings together the main agents of the Latin American value chain.
Barcelona, November 30, 2023.- SIL Barcelona, one of the world’s largest trade fairs for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics, and Supply Chain, and the benchmark in Spain, the Mediterranean and Latin America, organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), is present at the 24th edition of the International Congress of FITAC -Colombian Federation of Logistics Agents in International Trade-, which is held from November 29 to December 1 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
The special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro, and the general director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, visited the SIL stand today, where the next edition of the event, which will take place from June 5 to 7, 2024, is being promoted with the aim of attracting the participation of Latin American companies in the SIL.
During his visit to the FITAC Congress, Pere Navarro referred to “the importance of establishing and maintaining alliances with the main actors, institutions and management positions of the logistics chain from all over the world, who are present these days at the most important International Congress of the logistics and foreign trade sector in Latin America, as is FITAC”.
For her part, Blanca Sorigué, highlighted “the close link between SIL and FITAC, the latter being a strategic partner of the CZFB in Latin America and a travel companion with whom we have been collaborating in previous editions of SIL and we hope to continue doing so in the coming years”.
Both also participate in the academic program of the Congress, with the Consorci de la Zona Franca being the official sponsor of the event. Thus, Pere Navarro was one of the authorities invited to the opening ceremony that took place yesterday Wednesday November 29th, and will also be a speaker on the panel on “Free Trade Zones: a new vision in the face of global growth challenges”, which will take place today at 2:30 p.m. (local time).
In turn, Blanca Sorigué will be one of the protagonists of the new scenario of transformation and sustainability in the panel on women and logistics that will take place tomorrow, Friday, at 11:50 a.m.
Record Edition
SIL closed its 23rd edition in 2023 with more than 15,000 participants, with 650 companies, 40% of them international, and more than 250 events. This figure represents a 20% increase compared to that recorded in 2022 when there were slightly more than 12,000 attendees. The participating companies presented more than 150 new products exclusively on technological solutions, innovations and specialized services in logistics, transport, intralogistics, distribution, last mile, etc.
Likewise, the knowledge area, SIL Knowledge, had a very important weight with presentations divided into six blocks (sustainability, logistics and transport, supply chain, innovation, technology and digitalization, ecommerce, last mile and smart mobility, and talent), bringing together up to 400 speakers, around 144 sessions.
