The ZF Women’s Council Meets with Senator Araceli Martínez Esteban

- The senator for the province of Guadalajara, Araceli Martínez Esteban, Vice-President of the Committee on Culture and Deputy Spokesperson for the Committee responsible for addressing policies against gender-based violence, delivered the keynote speech entitled “Women Who Transform: From the Power of Being to the Power of Change.”
- The Executive President of the CZFB, Pere Navarro, and the Director General of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, highlighted the importance of promoting spaces for leadership, visibility, and collaboration that help accelerate real and effective equality across all areas of society and the economy.
- Mònica Costa Trachsel (Covestro), Rocío de la Torre (Cellnex) and Lourdes Masana (Quimidroga) have joined the ZF Women’s Council, which now comprises 25 council members.
Barcelona, October 1, 2026.- The ZF Women’s Council held a working session this morning at DFactory Barcelona, with the participation of Araceli Martínez Esteban, Senator for the province of Guadalajara, Vice-Chair of the Culture Committee, and Deputy Spokesperson of the Committee responsible for addressing policies to combat gender-based violence.
The event began with an institutional welcome delivered by the Executive President of the CZFB, Pere Navarro, who highlighted “the importance of continuing to create spaces for reflection, collaboration and action in order to advance towards a more equal and inclusive society”.
Next, Blanca Sorigué, Director General of the CZFB, delivered a brief introduction in which she highlighted the significance of holding the session, stating that “talent knows no gender, yet opportunities still do not reach everyone equally. For this reason, it is essential to continue fostering spaces for leadership, visibility, and collaboration that help accelerate real and effective equality across all areas of society and the economy”. She also added that “at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, we view equality, diversity, and inclusion as key drivers for building a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable economy. Initiatives such as the ZF Women’s Council, BWAW, and the Feel the ZF Power programme reflect our commitment to creating opportunities, showcasing female talent, and promoting new role models”.
During the session, Araceli Martínez Esteban delivered the keynote speech entitled “Women Who Transform: From the Power of Being Present to the Power of Driving Change.” In her address, she explored how female leadership contributes to social transformation and advances a more equal society. The presentation began with a historical reflection on women’s rights and the importance of their presence in decision-making spaces, highlighting empowerment and strategic action as essential tools for generating meaningful change. She also addressed highly relevant issues such as shared responsibility, violence against women, and equal participation, concluding with an inspiring message about the role of women as a driving force for social progress.
New Members Join the ZF Women’s Council
The meeting also served to formalize the appointment of three new members to the ZF Women’s Council: Mònica Costa Trachsel, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations at Covestro; Rocío de la Torre, Director of People and Organization at Cellnex Iberia; and Lourdes Masana, Director of Human Resources, People Management and Development at Quimidroga. With these new appointments, the Council further strengthens its cross-sector nature and enhances its representation within the business and institutional community.
The Women’s Council, Driving Female Leadership
The ZF Women’s Council is a pioneering initiative promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) that brings together senior executives, entrepreneurs, professionals, and institutional representatives with the aim of showcasing female talent, fostering shared knowledge, and promoting greater representation of women in leadership and decision-making positions.
