Ariño Duglass joins the industry 4.0 ecosystem of DFactory Barcelona

- The DFactory Barcelona has become the most important industry 4.0 hub in southern Europe, with 65% occupancy and the establishment of 30 companies that generate nearly 500 direct jobs.
Barcelona, 24 February 2023. – The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) continues with the process of development and growth of the DFactory Barcelona ecosystem with the incorporation of the company Ariño Duglass. Today, Raimundo García, CEO of Ariño Duglass, and Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB, met to sign this agreement that marks the beginning of the company’s activity in the industry 4.0 hub of the CZFB.
Ariño Duglass is a company dedicated to the design, manufacture and distribution of glass. Considered as one of the best companies in the architectural and railway glass sector, the company has an extensive experience that began in 1952 and currently holds an avant-garde position.
Ariño Duglass constantly invests in research and development for the improvement of production processes and the continuous training of qualified personnel, the driving force of the company. Moreover, the company pays special attention to the logistics service, constantly adapting the business to the changes demanded by the market and to the needs and demands of its customers.
After a period of growth, the company decided to create Ariño Design, a project that complements Ariño Duglass’ avant-garde positioning in the mobility and railway sector in particular, providing customers with a wider range of solutions.
This project, which will be located in the DFactory Barcelona ecosystem, will provide design at the heart of engineering and extensive knowledge of the market, industry and its processes. Ariño Design will provide the company with a competitive advantage, adding value to clients and society as a whole, by contributing effective solutions to the challenges of the industry.

DFactory Barcelona is the factory of the future where a new, much more sustainable way of producing materialises. The companies, which are developing cutting-edge projects in the fields of 3D printing, robotics, cybersecurity and blockchain, artificial intelligence and sensorics, have the opportunity to generate synergies and establish alliances with the other organisations present in the building.
The project is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, facilitating the digitalisation of the industry as a key lever for the ecological transition and boosting the circular economy by adopting new sustainable production systems and advanced manufacturing.
The ecosystem currently has 17,000m2 of facilities on four floors, where around 30 companies have already settled and where around 500 people work, which means a 65% occupancy rate in just one year.
Some of the most outstanding companies currently forming part of the DFactory business ecosystem are HP, Picvisa, e-Miles Company, NTT Data, On Robot, Alisys, Windforce, Leitat, AsorCAD, Mastertec 3D, Imhoit, VDMHealth, Nexiona, Girbau, Innovae, Witeklab, Dow Chemical, SiOCAST, Dassault Systèmes (3DS), Amphos21, ABB or Kuka.
In addition, it is expected that the second phase of the emblematic building will start to be planned during the year 2023, which will allow it to reach further 72,000 square metres in the coming years.
