Logistics 4.0 Incubator showcases its innovative projects at 4YFN 2024

Barcelona, February 27, 2024.- The Logistics 4.0 Incubator, Spain’s first high-tech incubator in Logistics 4.0, promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), is participating this week in the new edition of 4 Years From Now (4YFN), the conference for entrepreneurs at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona (MWC). The startups incubated in Logistics 4.0 are taking this opportunity to organize high-level networking between other participating companies and the companies present in the industrial estate of the Zona Franca in Barcelona.
Inaugurated last July with the help of the Incyde Foundation and European FEDER funds, Logistics 4.0 aims to boost the productive fabric, increase economic impact and develop greater skills within the logistics sector. It currently has 29 startups that are developing the most cutting-edge technologies and offering innovative solutions, services and products, focused on the value chain of the logistics sector. The projects focus on technologies such as robotics and automated warehouses, the emergence of IoT, Big Data, the last mile, 3D printing, Artificial Intelligence and green logistics.
Results of the Logistics 4.0 Incubator activity
Logistics 4.0 managed to raise 13.6 million euros during its first half year of the year. Specifically, from July to December, the incubated startups made 2 international calls where 60 applications were submitted. Start-ups closed the collection of public funds or grants raised, both at European and national level, worth €4.47M and €1.7M to invest in research processes.
On the other hand, during 2023, the startups closed 324 new clients and received 45 recognitions and awards, including the SIL 2023 Award for the Best Logistics Initiative. Finally, it is worth highlighting the more than 1.000 visits they received at the incubator from companies and entities, as well as participation in 7 congresses and fairs, such as Tech Spirit 2022, SIL Barcelona or Smart City, among others.
Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB, confirms that “from the CZFB we have the ambition to continue promoting the logistics of the future. State-of-the-art technologies and solutions that will increase the economic impact of the sector, creating a quality business fabric with a positive return to society and industry”.
For her part, Blanca Sorigué, general director of the CZFB, states that “this platform offers value-added services to the business, scientific and technological community, vital for their development. It is a project that promotes the design of innovative products and processes that transform the logistics industry towards a more digital, connected and efficient sector”.
Call open until March 29
Logistics 4.0 has an open call for attracting new startups until March 29. The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona accompanies startups, in addition to financing, in mentoring processes, collaborative and open innovation in an office space, coworking and work rooms of more than 1.000m2. Startups can take advantage of the world’s leading Industry 4.0 ecosystem, DFactory Barcelona, to share, create synergies, generate quality networking and develop new technologies with social and economic impact.
